FOE as a band never truly existed beyond the four walls of the garage in which we practiced. Nobody (save for a few irritated neighbors and some close friends) even knew we existed. We didn't have a singer. We didn't have a webpage or social media. We never played any shows. For all intents and purposes we were very much a garage band. One that never intended to be anything but a fun excuse to get together, pound back a few beers/darts/joints and jam on some loud riffs.

Most nights we would improvise on some free-form instrumental jams, usually clocking in around 20 minutes or more. We were a heavy metal jam band if such an improbable thing could exist. But we did have some cool songs written (at least in our opinion) and we wanted to record those before the band fizzled out, as bands tend to do.

This collection of songs was recorded live in a few takes one afternoon in March 2013 and released later that August. Recently I got the itch to remix this. I was never happy with how it sounded in 2013 owing to the fact that I didn't know what I was doing. I'm not sure I do now either but I think that this mix is a much better representation of what it sounded like in that garage (lovingly referred to as The Devil's Oven) 10+ years ago. That space is gone now, the house since sold and its garage returned to it's former state as a boring old building with cars in it. But these five and a half songs stand as testament that we did in fact, exist. And we made some noise.
